PLAYERS
Cameron Gregson (co-founder) – a keen golfer with, until recently, a single figure handicap. The inaugural winner of the Caecilius Cup in 1998 and is a multiple winner of the Cup. Strong form and the availability of quality affogato often go hand-in-hand.
Gavin James (co-founder) - loves his golf. A student of the game, who doesn’t suffer fools; has been instrumental in ‘black-balling’ several past invitees for intolerable misdemeanours. Member of Woodlands GC. Plays off a low single figure handicap and is a multiple winner of the Cup.
Dean Lear (co-founder) – is one of only two non-golfers on tour. Plays rarely and provides entertainment value to the golfers on tour. Managed to string 2 rounds together in 2011 to win the Cup. The ‘Switzerland’ of the tour, a constant, calming influence and organised like a Swiss-Army knife.
Greg Lasscock (co-founder) – ‘Swordfish’ is a strong golfer who rarely plays. Keen always to provide input into the dining and fine wine experiences on Tour and critique the restaurant waiting staff; plays to a low double digit handicap. Has not won the Cup, as yet.
Mark Orton (co-founder) – Orts is one of only two non-golfers on tour. Manages to find his clubs each year and can play some outstanding holes. Played very well in 2005 to win the Cup. Only Orts employment at Streamline has gone longer than our CC event.
Garry Phillips (co-founder) – Bones is an excellent all round sportsman who can play some excellent golf, when it all comes together. CC’s version of Seve Ballesteros. Member of Kingston Heath GC. Winner of the Cup in 2002.
Bruce van Twest (co-founder) - a good golfer who rarely finds time to play. Former Woodlands GC member with a high teens handicap. Multiple winner of the Cup.
Martin DiCrosta - a strong golfer who again plays periodically. Member of Woodlands GC and plays off a low double digit handicap. Yet to win the Cup. Single-handedly created the impetus for the creation of the Quo Vadis Shield.
Andrew Hollow - an excellent golfer who plays off a low single figure handicap. Member of Peninsula GC. Breakthrough winner of the Cup in 2013 after finishing second numerous times.
Shane Groves - a very good left handed golfer who plays off a mid single figure handicap. Member of Indooroopilly GC in Brisbane. Stormed home to win the Cup in 2007 at his first outing and has won it again since. Expert in all things refreshment – knowledge, selection, ownership and consumption.
Daniel Hayes - a keen golfer who plays off a low double digit handicap. Member of Woodlands GC and Sorrento GC and has toured Europe on several golf tours. Held the Cup aloft in 2009. The elder statesman of the field and a true global golf connoisseur.
Neale Dunn - a strong golfer who plays off a low double digit handicap. Member of Woodlands GC. Recently joined the Tour and won the Cup on the highly rated courses in Queenstown New Zealand.
Ken Archibald - a good golfer who plays off a low double digit handicap. Member of Woodlands GC who also recently joined the Tour. Yet to win the Cup. Always brings high expectations of his golf game and the waiting staff and baristas on Tour.
Paul Zoppos - arguably the best golfer on Tour. Plays close to scratch golf. Member of Commonwealth GC and has recently returned to the Tour after a long absence. Yet to win the Cup.
Brett Hartwig - a good and consistent golfer who plays off a low double digit handicap. Member of Northern GC and Queenscliff GC. Yet to win the Cup.
Matt Halford - a keen golfer who has not made the Tour since 2008 due to family and other commitments. Married to the Fortunate One. Fabled story teller and member of Peninsula GC. Has not won the Cup.
Gary Hardeman - VFL football legend and keen golfer. Has not made the Tour since losing the Cup in controversial circumstances in 2011. Every year since someone asks exactly why No 33 was never invited back. Will be remembered on tour for his story telling and rousing rendition of “Grand Old Flag” on the bar of the Port Fairy hotel. Won the Cup in 2006.
Andrew (Billy) Baxter - original member of the Tour until work and family commitments took over. A good golfer who has not been seen since the 2005 tour of Barnbougle, where he lost 15 balls in one round (and looked hard for every one of them). Winner of the Cup in 2003.
Jenko - attended one tour as an invited guest of Bill’s. Not sighted since but not forgotten as his name is etched on the Quo Vadis Shield.
